Gillingham Primary School

School Council

Our School Council is a group of children, a boy and a girl from each year group, who are elected by their classmates. Their job is very important as they represent the views of all the children in matters concerning the school.

Our School Council meets regularly to discuss ideas, helping to improve life at school. In the past they have talked about school lunch times, behaviour, improving our outside area  to ensure that they can have a healthy and enjoyable playtime.

They have been responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed, such as planning cake sales, discos, writing newspaper articles or meeting with the PTFA.

Currently the School Council is very busy working on improving the playground and making the school environment look more exciting and interesting. They have helped design a new play trail and the outdoor learning area.
