DPCC is run by parents & carers for parents & carers of children and young people age 0 - 25 with special educational needs or disability (SEND) who live in Dorset. Their aim is to improve services for children and young people by ensuring that families’ voices are heard by planners and decision-makers. Signposting and communication are key to what they do and wherever possible, they aim to work in co-production.

You can join the Xchange for free if you are the parent/ carer of a child who is disabled; your main residence of both you and your child is within the Dorset Council area, and your child is under 19 years of age. Xchange member benefits include a Dorset Max Card for your child which gives you discounts for venues and events, and a carer’s discount card for you.

Family Hubs or Children’s Centres provide a wide range of help and support.
This includes a range of services for babies, children, young people and their families. You can drop in to your local Family Hub or children's centre, or find information online.

Bridgit Care Services Online Support (bridgit.care)
Bridgit care offers support and care for carers all over the UK with whatever complex needs they may have. They help carers to find carer support resources within their local communities, as well as nationally or with the Bridgit Care organisation. “We care for you, so you can care for them.”
