Each year we buy into the Dorset Music Service Musicianship Programme which allows our Year 4 children to have the opportunity to learn a new instrument.
This year our Year 4 children will be learning a Brass instrument. Each child will be given an instrument to take home and practice and then bring into school each week for their lesson. They will learn their instrument for two terms and then six children will be chosen from each class to continue to learn their instrument for a further term . The instruments for these lessons are provided free of charge by Dorset Music Service.
Private Music Lessons
Did you know we offer private music lessons here at Gillingham Primary School?
Pupils are offered the opportunity to learn to play an instrument through tuition provided by both the Dorset Music Service and peripatetic music teachers. If your child is interested in starting music lessons then please enquire for more details at the school office.
