Music Lessons
Each year we buy into the Dorset Music Service Musicianship Programme which allows our Year 4 children to have the opportunity to learn a new instrument. The instruments for these lessons are provided free of charge by Dorset Music Service.
Private Music Lessons
Did you know we offer private music lessons here at Gillingham Primary School?
Pupils are offered the opportunity to learn to play an instrument through tuition provided by both the Dorset Music Service and peripatetic music teachers. If your child is interested in starting music lessons then please enquire for more details at the school office or see the letter below.
Currently Available:
Mr Gassman offers music lessons in brass instruments such as the trumpet/cornet and trombone. He also offers woodwind instrument lessons for recorder, flute, clarinet and alto saxophone (year 5-6 only for saxophone). Both group and individual lessons are available. Mr Gassman’s lessons are priced at the following rates:
- £10 per 20-minute lesson – individual lesson
- £15 per 30-minute lesson – individual lesson
- Group lessons of 2 – 4 pupils are available too but will need to be 30-minute lessons.
Mr McGregor offers music lessons in Guitar, Keyboard and Ukulele. Again, both group and individual lessons are available. Mr McGregor’s lessons are the following prices:
- An individual lesson at £12.00 per pupil per lesson
- A shared lesson at £8.00 per pupil per lesson
- Invoices are billed half termly
Miss Georgina Cluett offers piano lessons, violin and singing lessons. Her prices are as follows:
Individual 20-minute lesson - £15
Individual 30-minute lesson - £17.50
Shared 30-minute lesson (violin or singing only, up to three students) - £15 per pupil
